The Role

Ambition Community Trust is looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Assistant SENCO to join our welcoming team at Southern Cross School. As part of our welcoming team, you will enthuse and motivate students to strive for success while maintaining a healthy learning environment for all children within the school.


THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Assist the SENCO in the day-to-day management and coordination of SEN provision across the school.
  • Support the identification and assessment of students with SEN, including the development and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt and differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of students with SEN.
  • Provide guidance and support to teaching and support staff on effective strategies for inclusive education.
  • Liaise with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of accurate records and documentation related to SEN provision.
  • Support the development and delivery of staff training on SEN issues.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that values diversity and encourages the participation of all students.
