The Role

The Ambition Community Trust are looking for a dynamic and passionate humanities teacher for Meade Hill School, with excellent subject knowledge, who can deliver outstanding history, geography and RE lessons to pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The successful candidate will co-ordinate humanities at Meade Hill School, whilst working collaboratively with other humanities specialists across the Trust, having a resolve to make a real difference to our pupils, setting a level of challenge for all abilities across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. In addition, the role involves delivering aspects of the emotional curriculum and PSHCE to an assigned form group. As Meade Hill is a small school, there may be a need to deliver other subjects. 


This role is open to Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and we welcome applications from those at the beginning of their teaching journey. Full support and mentorship will be provided as part of our commitment to professional development

 

Skills

  • Teach humanities across KS3 and RE up to KS4, with a vision to develop the curriculum to further meet the needs of our learners
  • Have an excellent understanding of assessment in the humanities subjects, using this to improve outcomes for all learners
  • Develop high interest activities, to make humanities come alive to this SEMH cohort
  • Understand the importance of high-quality planning, preparation and marking, to achieve the best outcomes for all pupils
